The peak in the background is known as “Peña de Bernal” and is the second-largest monolith in the world. However, the pace of life in the town of San Sebastian Bernal is indifferent to such landmark except for the celebration of Spring equinox, when people converge around the peak, dressed in white to receive the new season.

  1. I live very close to Bernal, and the expectation for the spring to receive the “sun energy” and “good wave” is huge. People buy rocks and quartz for many reasons including money, love and health. There are many stories about UFO’s that land in the top of the peak. The town is small and special, it has the category of “Pueblo Magico” (Magic Town). I’d like to go soon.
